Many software and tools created at the University of Washington are available through our Express Licensing Program. These agreements have standard terms and conditions that allow for rapid licensing by companies or individuals.

The conditions and financial terms of Express Licenses apply only to those who download the Express License for that title, sign it “as is” and return it to UW Center for Commercialization. Other licensing arrangements may be available.

BiblioSpec

BiblioSpec is a set of annotated mass spectra libraries and a software program for compiling and searching mass spectra libraries. [ more ]

blast2tree

Blast2tree 1.0 assists in the identification of DNA sequences from microorganisms by sending automated queries to the NCBI BLAST and GenBank databases. In response to a sequence query, the BLAST server returns a set of similar sequences; additional information, including sequence origin and bibliographic information is retrieved from GenBank. CALM

Anxiety and mood disorders are the most common psychiatric disorders in adults. A large percentage of people have both an anxiety disorder and depression. These disorders cause significant impairment in academic, social and work functioning. Clinical Assessment of Music Perception for Cochlear Implants (CAMP)

CAMP is a self-administered, CD-ROM music perception-based test of cochlear implants. Crux

Crux contains software for tandem mass spectrometry analysis, with a focus on peptide identification. Development of Crux was funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institutes of Health. Crux was developed by researchers in the laboratory of Dr. William S. Noble, and incorporates methods developed at the University of Washington originally by Dr. John Yates and Dr. Jimmy Eng. [ more ]

DIVE: Data Intensive Visualization Engine

Professor Valerie Daggett, Steve Rysavy and Denny Bromley from UW Bioengineering Department developed the DIVE framework for domain independent analysis of complex data. It is capable of real-time data analysis, ontological data representation, and has an extensible data pipeline. DIVE allows fast and agile access to the Dynameomics data warehouse by interactive graphics, scripted data analysis and direct SQL access. Drug Interaction Database (including the Pharmacogenetic Database e-PKGene™)

EDGE

Extraction of Differential Gene Expression (EDGE) is a software package for the statistical analysis of DNA microarray experiments. Through this software, it is possible to identify genes whose expression is different among varying biological conditions. TrainSMART

TrainSMART software provides a robust web-based training data collection system for organizations allowing them to track over 20 training attributes, participant and trainer attributes and 10 facility attributes. WinTensor

WinTensor is a program for Windows 95, 98, 2000, NT, XP with which representation surfaces are created from crystallographic data (metric, tensor components) as input and several image files as output, including *.wrl (VRML V2.0 utf8) that can be inserted on web pages. Wraparound Fidelity Index - Version 4 (WFI-4)

A variety of UW materials are available under an academic license to qualified licensees. Check the licensing page for the title you want for availability of an academic license.

Working with Distributors

Research software and tools distributed by the University of Washington may also be offered through licensed redistributors; these are companies we have authorized to modify and distribute the materials. Redistributors may make the materials available under terms different from those the University is able to support.
